Back Care Series: Yoga for Sacroiliac Joint Stability
Program Description
Back Care Series: Yoga for Sacroiliac Joint Stability
Support your lower back and pelvic region through targeted practices designed to strengthen and stabilize the sacroiliac (SI) joints. The sacrum connects the base of the spine to the pelvis, and this region plays a crucial role in our balance, mobility, and everyday movement. When misaligned or unstable, the SI joints can cause persistent pain in the lower back, hips, or legs, and make daily actions like walking, bending, or climbing stairs feel difficult.
This workshop offers a gentle and effective approach to understanding, supporting, and stabilizing the SI joints. You’ll learn how to adapt yoga poses for greater stability, explore practices that build strength and symmetry, and discover how mindful movement can support healing without aggravating sensitive areas.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to identify and address sacroiliac joint imbalances through Yoga
- Pose modifications to maintain pelvic neutrality and prevent strain
- Core and pelvic strengthening techniques to support long-term stability
- Practices to reduce SI-related pain and improve functional mobility
Benefits of Attending:
- Restore balance and strength in the pelvis and lower back
- Gain confidence adapting your practice to prevent injury or aggravation
- Learn what postures to avoid and when to safely reintroduce them
- Develop a practical, supportive routine you can continue at home
Program Goals:
To empower participants with accessible, anatomy-informed tools that support SI joint health, reduce discomfort, and promote sustainable movement for everyday life.
Please Note:
This session is intended for general education and self-care. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. If you are experiencing significant or ongoing pain, consult your healthcare provider before beginning a new movement practice.
