Community Movie Night: The Matrix
Program Description
Community Movie Night: The Matrix
Have you ever had a dream so vivid that you were not sure if it was real or not? What if you couldn’t awaken from the dream? How would you discern a dream from reality? Thomas Anderson, the protagonist in The Matrix (1999), by day is a computer programmer and by night a hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality, but when a stranger opens his eyes, he discovers the shocking truth, revealing a reality far beyond anything he could have imagined.
Join your IYI family and host Swami Asokananda, who will lead us through an exploration of how this iconic story embodies what Joseph Campbell termed “an archetypal myth,” leading us to a profound understanding of Jnana Yoga.
Your donation of $5 covers the cost of popcorn and beverages. Space is limited to 30, so please secure your spot for an evening of film, friends, and yoga philosophy.
