Sing in the Key of “We”: Gather and Celebrate Kirtan with Astrud Castillo
Saturday, January 19 • 7:30–9:30 p.m.
Open the heart, drop the mind, and connect with Spirit and one another through the powerful practice of Kirtan. Surrender to the Divine. Astrud believes that Kirtan is a metaphor for how we are like the sun and how each and every one of us has the capacity to generate more light in the world, one breath and mantra at a time. The act of communing through music and chant regardless of religious or spiritual beliefs is one of the most beautiful and uplifting aspects of experiencing Kirtan. Singing the sacred names ignites the heart and awakens us from the inside out.
“Kirtan with Astrud immerses the mind in a sea of sacred sound and melts open the heart. Her voice, music, and mantras embody a love and a devotion that touch the deep places within where communion with the Divine is possible.” —Swami Ramananda
