Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday Satsang with Manu Dawson, C.Y.N.Th.
Saturday, January 19 • 5:30–7:00 p.m.
“Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time: the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Man must evolve for all human conflict a method, which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.” −Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Ahimsa is the Yogic term for nonviolence and one that holds that all living things be deemed sacred. This notion was the at the heart of Gandhi’s teachings, which strongly inspired Dr. King’s work and whose theme is central to Sri Swami Satchidananda’s core teachings. Please join us in a Satsang (community of like-minded seekers) in honoring Dr. King’s legacy; it will be followed by a group discussion on the common threads between his teachings and leading a life of ahimsa.
