Dattātreya and the 24 Gurus of Nature: Exploring and Untying the Knots of the Heart

Dattātreya and the 24 Gurus of Nature: Exploring and Untying the Knots of the Heart with Gary Kraftsow

Monday, August 10 • 6:00–9:00 p.m.

Dattātreya was revered as one of the greatest lords of Yoga. Some consider him to be an avatāra. According to some traditions, he is a deity, the union of Brahma, Viṣnu, and Śiva in a single, triune form. As a Yogi, Dattātreya is known as one who has “cut the knot of the heart” and attained freedom from saṁsāra. In this session, we will explore Dattātreya’s core teachings with an emphasis on the 24 insights he discovered by observing life in the world: what he calls the 24 Gurus of Nature. This session will include a presentation of Dattātreya’s teachings followed by an integrated practice inspired by those teachings.
