Bhakti Yoga as a Daily Practice: A Heart-Opening Introduction with Astrud Castillo

Bhakti is the Yoga of devotion and a practice that aims at deepening your relationship to the Divine or what is sacred to you. It may take shape in an attitude of gratitude or through one of the nine practices that stem from the tradition. We will explore some of the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras and discuss Japa practice and Kirtan. Learn how you can weave this practice into your everyday life and infuse the mundane with devotion. Astrud is a San Francisco–based Kirtan wallah who has been sharing Kirtan since 2001. She leads Kirtan from coast to coast, near and far, and holds workshops on the practices of bhakti. Astrud is a senior Yoga teacher at Laughing Lotus, where she has been teaching since 2000. She leads retreats to India and in the United States as well as Kirtan and workshops on Bhakti Yoga.
