Marma are one of Ayurveda’s most powerful modes of applying therapy. These vital energetic points, located on the surface of the body, allow us to tap into the multidimensional nature of our whole being. Think of them as areas where you can tap into your physiology and consciousness! Marma have been used in Ayurveda Medicine to both diagnose and treat illness. These points on the surface the skin are the vehicles of communication between every single cell. In this three-day mini course, you will be introduced to the Marma points of Ayurveda, their history, their mechanisms of action, their therapeutic uses, and much more. We will also explore a number of different application methods through hands-on learning. You will learn how to work with gemstones, tuning forks, and essential oils.
Open to all health practitioners, licensed massage therapists, aromatherapists, homeopaths, practitioners of Oriental medicine, Yoga instructors, Yoga therapists, and everyone wishing to heal and focus on the self and/or to harness and ignite your own potential as a healer. You will both give and receive therapy.

  • Marma point location, name, and function
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Asana and Pranayama
  • Mantra
  • Yoga Nidra
  • Doshic effect of gemstones, essential oils, and spices

Cory Tixier, B.S., Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner with NAMA, E-RYT 500, completed extensive study with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute, where she is currently on the faculty. Tixier sees private clients for both Ayurveda and Yoga and teaches across the country.
