The Integral Yoga Meditation Teacher Training program will enable you to go deeper in your own practice and guide your students to go deeper in theirs. You will receive instruction in the theory and techniques of meditation, including mantra, visualization, breath awareness, witnessing, and prayer. You also will learn the Yogic breathing techniques and how to refine and develop them. You will be taught different ways of incorporating meditation into Hatha Yoga classes. After completing the training, you will have the knowledge, skill, and confidence to teach meditation workshops of varying lengths and a six-week meditation course.

Curriculum

This course trains you to teach a workshop or meditation course, which will provide your students with the information, experience, and motivation that a new meditator needs in order to begin and develop a regular meditation practice. Your curriculum includes instruction and training in the following:

• Theory of meditation
• The principal techniques of meditation, including mantra, witnessing, and visualization
• Overcoming obstacles to meditation practice
• Answering questions about Yoga and meditation
• Maintaining a spiritual diary
• Developing a personal practice routine and a long-term practice plan
• Deepening and refining your own practice
• Integrating your meditation practice into daily life
• An outline for a workshop of any length
• A syllabus for a 6-week meditation course

Certification

At the end of the course, graduates receive a diploma certifying them to teach Integral Yoga Meditation. This course qualifies for 300-hour Integral Yoga Certification.

Technological Requirements

Please be aware that you must have regular access to the internet to participate in this online training. You must be able to run Zoom on your computer or device, and have an active e-mail account for delivery of course materials.

Attendance at all live sessions is required.

Prerequisites

Open to Yoga teachers of all traditions who have had a meditation practice for at least six months. Must have at least a 200-hour teaching certification recognized by Yoga Alliance. Daily meditation practice for 30 minutes and attendance at Integral Yoga group meditation once per week is required during the training.

Teacher Bios

SwRSwami Ramananda, RYT-500, C-IAYT, is the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition, who has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. Ramananda offers practical methods of integrating the timeless teachings and practices of Yoga into daily life, and transforming the painful aspects of human experience into steps toward realizing one’s full potential. He leads beginner, intermediate and advanced level Yoga teacher training programs in San Francisco, and offers a variety of programs in many locations in the U.S., Europe and South America. Ramananda co-developed the Stress Management Teacher Training program with Swami Vidyananda, has trained many teachers to bring Yoga into corporate, hospital and medical settings, and has taught mind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a certified Yoga therapist and founding board member of the Yoga Alliance, a national registry that supports and promotes yoga teachers as professionals. He is a co-founder of The Spiritual Action Initiative (SAI) which brings together individuals committed to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and healing of our natural world. His warmth, wisdom and sense of humor have endeared him to many.

Diana Meltsner, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, has been teaching yoga in the Bay Area since 2001. The classes she teaches include various levels of Hatha Yoga, Gentle and Chair Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, guided mindfulness meditations, and Yoga and meditation workshops. Diana has been a lead teacher trainer for 200-hour Integral Yoga Teacher Trainings since 2012. She is a C-IAYT certified Yoga therapist and offers individual therapeutic sessions with focus on physical and mental wellness. Integral Yoga Institute offers 500 hours of training in two segments, 200 hours and 300 hours, permitting teachers who graduate to become either an RYT 200 or an RYT 500, depending on the level of training completed. Our 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training program can be customized to fit your individual interests. You may select from our many graduate-level Yoga Teacher Training programs.
