Three-Module Course Leading to Certification as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor

A Three-Module Course to Incorporate Ayurveda into Your Life and the Lives of Others

Open to all health practitioners, licensed massage therapists, aromatherapists, homeopaths, practitioners of Oriental medicine, Yoga instructors, Yoga therapists, and everyone wishing to heal and focus on the self and/or to harness and ignite his or her own potential as a healer.

The three modules include contact hours and online study for a flexible, personalized, and supported path. Each module is the prerequisite for the next. Upon completion of all three modules, students will have 650 hours of training.

  • May be used toward Yoga Alliance 500-hour requirement.
  • Upon successful completion of this program students may apply to sit for the NAMACB Health Counselor certification exam. NAMACB exam application fee and exam fee not included in tuition.
  • Enhances the ability of any health care expert to offer truly integrative care.

A 219-hour course designed to teach the foundations of Ayurveda with an emphasis on incorporation into your own life.

Module One will be the foundation of the course, introducing students to the rich history and philosophies of Ayurveda. This module will be focused on the individual and self-care, giving you time to absorb through lecture and application. You will learn and implement practices that will allow the beauty of Ayurvedic medicine to unfold within you.

Module One alone will change your life and your practice and add a new level of skill in your service to your students and clients, even if you don’t take the other two modules.

This module also includes an Introduction to Sanskrit workshop and an Ayur+Yoga One-Day Immersion.

Tuition for Module One
$2,850 when you register by August 5, 2019.  Save $150 with the early bird discount!
$3,000 for applications received after August 5, 2019.
$2,850 for Integral Yoga Certified Teachers up to the start date.

  • Tuition includes free Yoga classes at Integral Yoga for the duration of each module.
  • A monthly payment plan is available. There is a $100 administrative fee to enroll.

A 219-hour course designed to make you familiar and comfortable with diagnostic techniques of Ayurveda, also known as the eight methods of examination.

You will begin the transition from self-care to the care of others. The focus will be on the assessment tools of Ayurveda, bedside manner, treatment options, and therapy techniques. You will learn how to translate the human landscape in order to determine the presence of good health or disease and understand how to manage a client through diet and lifestyle.

Module Two will include a retreat.


A 219-hour course designed to teach you how to create and maintain client protocols.  Students will engage in multiple client encounters.

This module is focused mainly on client encounters and will serve as the clinic portion of the program. You will spend numerous hours of face-to-face time with clients, along with additional time with your clinical supervisors discussing and managing client protocols.

Teacher Bios

cory_2017-summer_spaCory Tixier, B.S. Biology, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner with NAMA, E-RYT 500, completed extensive study with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute, where she is currently on the faculty. Cory sees private clients for both Ayurveda and Yoga and teaches across the country. Her studies of biology kindled a determination to reconnect people to the rhythms and cycles of their environment, and her teachings are accessible even as they preserve the ancient philosophies. www.corytixier.com

Jennifer Ayres is a NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Teacher, and Mentor. Starting her Ancient Vedic studies with Swami Vidyadhishananda in 2000, she completed Ayurvedic studies with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in 2004. Later she was invited to join the faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute as both a teacher and curriculum developer. Jennifer is presently the lead faculty, clinical supervisor, and assistant to Dr. Lad at the Vasant Institute of Ayurveda in Pune, India where she oversees the Gurukula Program.

Emily Glasser
Emily Glaser is the founder of the healing center Agni Ayurveda, in Santa Fe, NM. She is a clinical practitioner of Ayurveda and a wisdom keeper of Vedic Astrology. Emily was trained by mystical doctors and healing masters who guided her to fine tune her capacity to perceive the many levels of reality that make up our human experience. With a background in clinical nursing, Emily is continually engaged in the process of learning and personal development. Her whole-being enrichment approach to healing bridges the East-West paradigm. She teaches and lectures internationally and currently resides part of the year in Vaidyagrama Ayurveda Healing Village, in Coimbatore India.
