Advanced Teacher Training

Integral Yoga Advanced Teacher Training

September 12, 2018–December 1, 2018
Taught by Swami Asokananda, E-RYT 500 and Rashmi Galliano, E-RYT 500

The Advanced Integral Yoga Hatha Teacher Training course enables your Yoga practice and teaching skills to flourish. Expand your teaching skills by learning how to instruct advanced classes and finding ways to take simple, basic asanas to a deeper and more subtle level–this is what truly makes a practice “advanced.”
Some of the topics covered in this training are:

  • More advanced asanas and variations, including inversions and arm balancing poses
  • Advanced study, theory, and practice of pranayama, as well as bandhas and kriyas
  • Guidance on how to safely introduce advanced practices
  • Additional study and immersion in Raja Yoga
  • Guidance on how to integrate koshas, Patanjali’s Ashtanga (Eight Limbs of Yoga), and meditation into your teaching and personal practice.

There will be time to share experiences and to address challenges that you may have encountered in teaching or in your personal practice. In a peaceful, supportive environment, you will further your own growth by deeply exploring the science of Yoga.

Integral Yoga Advanced Teacher certification includes teaching a practicum as your final exam. Graduates will receive a diploma certifying them to teach Advanced Hatha Yoga in the Integral Yoga tradition. This certification is recognized by Yoga Alliance, and may be counted toward the RYT 500 designation.

The training includes a 3-day weekend retreat at the beautiful Ananda Ashram in Monroe, N.Y., where you will be immersed in nature, yoga, meditation, and superb vegetarian meals as you experience the traditions of ashram life that have been at the heart of Integral Yoga for many decades.

Tuition includes the Integral Yoga Advanced Teacher’s Manual, all other required reading material, and the weekend retreat with round trip transportation. A deposit of $250 is required when submitting the application form, the balance is due on or before the first day of class. A two-installment payment plan option is available; the fee to enroll in the payment plan is $50. After the training begins, there are no refunds.

Teacher Bios

SwamiAsokanandaSwami Asokananda, a monk since 1973, is one of Integral Yoga’s foremost teachers, known for his warmth, intelligence, and good humor. His teaching comes out of his own practice and experience, since he has absorbed the wisdom of his guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, since the age of 19. While he enjoys sharing the practical wisdom of the Yogic philosophy (especially that of the great Indian scripture the Bhagavad Gita), he also loves his practice of Hatha Yoga and is one of our primary instructors for Intermediate and Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training. In the past, he has served as the president of Satchidananda Ashram–Yogaville® and Integral Yoga® International; he is currently the president of the New York Integral Yoga Institute

Headshot_DianneGallianoRashmi Galliano, E-RYT 500, RPYT, is a certified Hatha II, and Hatha III, Gentle, and Prenatal Integral Yoga teacher and has been teaching at IYI since 2006.
