DESCRIPTION:Using the One-Breath-Per-Line™ method\, you’ll take a breath\, draw a line\, and repeat — allowing each exhale to carry a thought\, feeling\, or reflection onto the page. No fancy tools\, no overthinking — just breath\, body\, and the willingness to explore. The goal is repetition and falling into a simple pattern so that the mind calms down and creates space to tackle things. \nWhether you’re navigating personal loss\, creative blocks\, or everyday stress\, this workshop offers a powerful\, accessible way to release\, reflect\, and rediscover your strength — one breath at a time. \nWhat Participants Will Learn:\nWe will start with grounding movement and breathwork to quieten our busy thinking mind. We will stretch and flow on our yoga mats. \nAfter which we will engage in breathing techniques\, particularly slow and deep breaths with emphasized exhalations to stimulate the vagus nerve\, which is a key part of the parasympathetic nervous system\, promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Participants will learn Bhramari – humming bee breathing\, and Nadi Shodhana – alternate nostril breathing. \nBefore starting our one-line-per-breath™ activity we will learn Ujjai breath – ocean breath\, which also stimulates our vagus nerve. I will share a few prompts to help us get started and we will end with a reflection and a mini sound bath. \nMaterials required:\n\nA pen\, thin Sharpie\, gel pen\, or pencil\nA piece of 8.5×11 paper or unlined blank journal\n\nProgram Goals:\nOn the surface this activity is a simple mindful breathing exercise\, however it works with our conscious and unconscious minds. As we get immersed in repetition\, the unconscious is freed up to work for us. It will keep part of the mind busy while freeing the rest to remain open to whatever comes in. \nWe will learn to disengage and re-engage with more clarity. In moments of overwhelm\, this activity will give you tools to pause\, breathe\, and create. Even 2-3 lines can release tension.

SUMMARY:Navigating Grief Through Chanting and Movement
DESCRIPTION:Grief isn’t always about the loss of a loved one. It can stem from losing a sense of agency\, navigating life transitions\, feeling displaced\, or simply moving through the many shifts that come with being human. Grief takes many shapes—and it lives in the body as much as the heart. \nWe will begin with high-energy movement through rhythm and drumming\, then gradually soften into breathwork\, mindful movement\, and deep rest. The session will close with a restorative sound bath in yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra)\, allowing the body and nervous system to fully integrate the experience. Peace and Shakti mantras chanting will be intertwined throughout the session. \nWhat Participants Will Learn:\n\nBeat the Odds™\, Drum Circle (We won’t need drums\, we will tap and clap on our bodies to create the vibrations of a drum circle): Engage in group drumming to release tension\, awaken joy\, and “crowd out” grief\, stress\, and pain through rhythm. This evidence-based technique supports neuroplasticity and emotional release.\nBreathwork Techniques: Explore breath practices that calm the mind\, soothe the heart\, and provide emotional release\, empowering participants to access inner peace and resilience.\nMindful Movement (Yoga): Learn gentle yoga postures designed to release stored emotion\, regulate the nervous system\, and bring awareness to where grief may reside in the body.\nSound Healing: Experience the soothing effects of sound and chanting as a tool for nervous system regulation\, deep rest\, and energetic realignment.\n\nProgram Goals:\n\nTo support emotional regulation through somatic practices and mindfulness.\nTo help participants reconnect to their bodies\, creativity\, and inner wisdom.\nTo offer tangible tools for ongoing self-care and healing beyond the session.\nTo provide a compassionate space for individuals to process grief without judgment or pressure.
