Program Description

Celebrate the long, summer days by slowing down to release excessive heat, dissolve layers of stress, and restore the connection between the heart and mind. This practice will help cool us down to reduce inflammation, decrease reactivity, lessen frustrations, and decrease pitta. Pitta is one of the three doshas, or the three fundamental energies, that are present in everyone according to the yogic science of Ayurveda. Pitta controls the metabolic system, temperature, heat, and transformations of the body and mind. If pitta is in balance, there is solid intellect, strong digestion, good sleep, and a sense of abundance and playful joy.

In this immersion, the poses will transition slowly so the mind has time to engage with the body. There will be time to create reflective pauses. We’ll infuse our practice with sweet life energy, and poses can be refined without feeling rushed into the next move, or next breath. Closing with cooling breathwork and Restorative Yoga, release deeply into a special Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) to renew your strength and connect to the light within. At the end of the session, we will review strategies and tips to manage heat, dissipate anger, and to keep one refreshed, calm, and clear throughout the season of Pitta.
