Program Description

Yin Yang Yoga collects the best techniques from classical yoga, adapting them for a modern audience. We’ll start with a yang yoga practice stoking inner fire: warm-ups; asanas to help build strength and stamina in preparation for deeper yin practices; powerful cleansing techniques to improve digestive fire and power of concentration—for a healthy body, mind, and flow of energy. We’ll work with active pranayama practices here, learning how to adapt pranayama for personal needs. We’ll learn the difference between yin and yang tissues in the body and how to apply different approaches to them. We’ll continue with yin yoga—a more gentle part of the practice. Yin yoga helps to work with the body on a deeper level. After the preparation of yang yoga, we can go deeper in all levels—body, mind, and energy, removing blocks, recovering a natural flow of prana, and healing ourselves. This section includes deep relaxation and calm pranayama practices that help train the circulatory, respiratory, and nervous systems, preparing us for meditation, training the brain for dhyana and dharana—the ability to concentrate and meditate. Yin and yang, two opposing energies, when joined form a complete energy—chi—the governing force of all life and the perfectly balanced form of energy. Achieve almost perfect balance after working with both energies.

This is an in-person program.
