Program Description

In this class, parents will learn the role music plays in healthy prenatal and postnatal development, as well as how music can be used to support the mental health of the pregnant mother. Often parents take great care to support the language development of their child, but do not do the same for music, even though both are developing at the same time. Because infants are biologically wired to absorb the most from people who they are bonded to, caregivers are the only ones capable of maximizing the benefits music can have for their baby, regardless of their own musical ability. In this workshop, we will let go of our reliance on recorded music and give parents the skills and knowledge they need to support their child musically.
