Reverend Bruce Shankar Fern, IYM, M.Ed.,has been not just instructing and studying the teachings of Integral Yoga for several decades but living them in every aspect of his life. He is the first to acknowledge that he is a “work in progress”, and his Faith in God (as the Divine Mother) and Guru acts as his guiding light through all his trials and tribulations. He loves sharing with others the insights he has been blessed with through his study of the yoga scriptures combined with daily prayer, worship, and meditation, and hopes to create a lasting community of those who seek wisdom and knowledge in this course.
Program Description
The loss of a loved one can be made easier with emotional and spiritual support. When we lose a family member, a friend, or even an animal family member, we also want to honor their life in a way that shows love and recognition of how they have given meaning and joy to our lives. Likewise, all the great spiritual traditions teach us different ways of honoring loved ones as they pass on.
In order to commemorate the family and friends who have passed away (no matter how long ago), as well as recognize that Truth is One, Paths are Many, please join us in a virtual “Integral Yoga Memorial Service” to invoke divine blessings upon the departed souls and to bring comfort and peace to their family and friends.
The service will highlight:
- Representatives of different Faiths who will share their faith’s response to death and grief and share prayers
- An Integral Yoga puja
- A slideshow of loved ones and their qualities to warm us with sweet memories and inspiration, and
- A beautiful candlelight ceremony to send prayers to our loved ones as they continue their journey home.
Please join us online for this virtual service. PLEASE NOTE: Bring a candle for the candle lighting part of the service, and if you wish us to include your loved one in the memorial, please email us at prayer@iyiny.org no later than Monday, October 23 with their name and picture, their date of birth and passing, along with one or two positive qualities for which they will be remembered.
This Interfaith Memorial Service is being offered by NY and NJ Integral Yoga Ministers. Reverend Jaganath Carrera, Reverend Paraman Barsel, Rev. Bharati Gardino, and esteemed representatives of African Faiths, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam/Sufism, Judaism, and Native American Faiths
Thank you so much for this opportunity to serve you. Together we can appreciate all our loved ones who have made a difference in our lives. They can continue making a difference by us living our lives better, inspired by their positive qualities.
