SUMMARY:200-Hour Teacher Training\, Module 1: Yoga Immersion Program
DESCRIPTION:“Yoga” means “union” in the ancient Sanskrit language. It is a perfect description of the Integral Yoga method which synthesizes the various branches of Yoga into a comprehensive lifestyle system. The six branches of Integral Yoga (Hatha\, Raja\, Karma\, Bhakti\, Jnana\, and Japa) are powerful tools to encourage wellness and self-mastery. The aim is to promote the harmonious development of every aspect of the individual – the results are subtle\, profound\, and measurable. \nFor over 40 years\, Integral Yoga’s internationally respected training program has been continually developed and refined to meet the personal and professional Yogic needs of our participants. Rooted in ancient wisdom with a contemporary approach for modern times\, we provide a wide reaching foundation for trainees to develop their knowledge and personal practice of Yoga\, along with the essential skills for teaching. Graduates of our training program receive both a practical and a philosophical understanding of the full scope of Yoga teachings and practices\, and are well prepared to serve in guiding others along the Yogic path. \nModule 1: Yoga Immersion Program\nModule 1 covers the first 50 hours of credit for 200-Hour Teacher Training. You will be immersed in an experience of living Yoga for personal and spiritual development\, encouraging you to deepen your own practice through the study of Yoga as a complete lifestyle science. Upon graduation from Module 1\, you will have the knowledge and skills to establish yourself in a well-grounded personal practice\, and be ready for Module 2: Yoga Teaching Essentials\, where you will learn how to guide others through a complete Integral Yoga class and become a certified teacher recognized by Yoga Alliance. \nCurriculum Includes:\n\nAsana (physical postures)\nPranayama (breath work)\nMantra (chanting)\nMeditation\nPhilosophy from The Yoga Sutras of Patañjali\nHistorical Roots of Yoga\nAnatomy & Physiology\nYogic Diet\nIntroduction to lesser known traditional practices\, such as Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion)\, Karma Yoga (the path of selfless service)\, and Jñana Yoga (the path of self-inquiry)\n\nAll textbooks and study materials will be provided at the beginning of the course.
