Exciting news! With the advent of new technologies, researchers can now see directly into our brain and body and can observe how yoga and mindfulness practices shape our neurobiology and impact on the nervous system. Understanding the yoga practices through the lens of neuroscience enables teachers and students alike to have more agency over their healing and the regulation of their nervous system.

In this workshop we will explore how and why yoga works through an understanding of the intersection of neuroscience, yoga, and psychology. Participants will learn how to improve their ability to self-regulate, manage stress, improve resiliency, and will learn how to activate calm and happy hormones.
Participants will have an opportunity to experience various yoga practices and learn how the practices are positively impacting their neurobiology. Join us to discover what the cutting-edge research on neuroscience and the effects of yoga on the brain have to offer you.

She is the President of Positive Health Solutions and is the Founder and Director of the renowned teacher training certification programs: Neuroscience and Yoga & Cardiac Medical Yoga. She is also the Founder of Limited Mobility Yoga and Hospital Bed Yoga. Dr. Cunningham has a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin / Madison and has been in private practice in Charlottesville, Va.for over 30 years.
