Work Exchange Program
GIVE, SERVE, LOVE
“I feel that by loving service you can conquer the whole world. You can be a good friend to all.” —Sri Swami Satchidananda
TAKE CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS IN EXCHANGE FOR SERVICE!
The Work Exchange program provides opportunities for students to contribute to Integral Yoga Institute through service.
Program participants volunteer their time and talents in these areas of IYI.
- Kitchen: prep and cleanup
- Shop: cleaning and alphabetizing
- Events: dinner and dance events and helping with the Day for Your Health fair
- Office work: clerical duties
- Kirtans and concerts
- Facility work: light maintenance
Participants also enjoy the opportunity to become part of the larger IYI community, working side by side with staff, teachers, and other volunteers.
THE WORK EXCHANGE EXPERIENCE
The basic Yogic teachings of our founder, Sri Swami Satchidananda, are the guidelines that govern our activities. Karma Yoga, or selfless service, is the ideal we strive for in our work.
We can turn our work into a spiritual practice that aids the natural unfolding of our innate happiness. Karma Yoga teaches that we try to apply our whole selves—body, mind, spirit—without any expectation for the results of our actions.
YOUR COMMITMENT TO IYI AND OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU
In exchange for a minimum of 90 minutes of your time in service, you will receive a pass allowing you to take one class at any level of our Integral Yoga Hatha classes. Multiple passes allow one to take selected workshops. The Institute offers programs and workshops to help people develop healthy bodies, minds, and lifestyles. After six months of regular service we offer a discount card to Integral Yoga Shop, Natural Foods, and Natural Apothecary.
