Yoga for Labor & Delivery Teacher Training

Prenatal Yoga teachers will learn how to teach a three-hour Yoga for Labor and Delivery workshop that helps couples prepare for birth using various techniques and philosophies of Hatha Yoga along with the practice of effective pain management strategies for each stage of labor. Teachers will gain a comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and physiological process of birth, common medical interventions and their potential impact on the birth process, effective labor coping strategies, and how to prepare couples for labor. This workshop may be taught in any setting, or privately.
*This training includes an independent-study component, class observations, and co-teaching opportunities that are required for certification.

Kelly Devi Swails (RPYT, CCCE, CLC), is an Integral Yoga teacher with certifications in general Hatha, Prenatal, Postnatal, and Restorative Yoga and Yoga for Labor and Delivery. She is also a doula, a childbirth educator, a lactation counselor, and the mom of three. Kelly has taught Yoga for Labor and Delivery workshops for more than a decade and has mentored and trained new Prenatal Yoga teachers since 2008. Kelly’s strong passion is to help women connect with the sacredness of pregnancy and labor by developing trust in the body’s ability to give birth.
